General news
27/2/2009 - Its not normal for one company to mention its competitors on its own web page, however after reading an article in this months Computer Active I felt oblidged to.
The article reviews 3 companys that offer support and home visits, I've read the report and was astonished at the findings.
The 3 companys are BT Home IT Support, Geek Squad and Tech guys.
BT's home callouts start at a whopping £88 for one hour, The Tech guys charge a huge £90 and Geek squad charge a massive £99 per call out. Our Callouts start at just £30.
In the article it states that the Tech guys wanted to charge £229 for a laptop diagnostic, we charge only £45 if we have to send it away or free if we dont.
Unfortunatly we only cover a small area in the Crewe and Nantwich area including Sandbach, Winsford and Whitchurch but I hope we offer a better service to our customers than the one highlighted in this article.

11/01/2008 - According to a Which? magazine article featured on the news recently (SEE HERE) they are advising people who get rid of their old PC to smash their Hard drive first to help save their confidential data. While I am completley for this method as it not only protects your data but also relieves stress at the same time I would like to say that we have been telling our customers this and doing it for them for years ! The article also states that they purchased 8 second hand drives and recovered 22.000 files... well my Windows folder alone contains over 73,000 files and thats just the operating system folder !.
Play it safe and destroy the drive before selling, however this may lower the price you are able to sell the PC for if your planning on doing so,
28/09/2008 - Nvidia have now released its physx drivers that allow 8 series G92 core graphics cards to use its core GPU as a physx processor. By utilising the superfast cores on the Nvidia cards your pc is able to play games that incorporate millions of moving and movable particles without impeding on the performance of the PC. If your PC trys to manage these millions of particles, moving objects and interactive materials without the aid of a Physx card or physx drivers then you will be lucky to reach anything more than 20FPS (on a Q6600, 8800GTS), however with the help of the Physx card you may get 60+. On the Nvidia website there is also a free game called Warmonger which utilises the physx drivers to a great extent, its great fun to shoot up planks of wood and watch them splinter into realistic pieces and in a realistic manner or shoot a flapping flag and watch it rip and tare and flap in 2 parts. If this is the future of gaming I cant wait for the new titles to be released, but it not only uses the GPU for physx it can also be used for video encoding using the bada-boom application (demo available from the website). I personally think ATI have seriously got their work cut out to achieve the same on their cards. Get the latest drivers from here
