18/1/2009 - There is an outbreak of a virus at the moment, the virus has infected over 3 million PC's so far and infects the SERVICES.EXE file, Microsoft are recommending that you install patch MS08-067

16/12/2008 - Microsoft are trying to fix a huge security hole in Microsofts internet browser, the problem isnt just localised to IE7 but also its other browsers. We recommend using another browser such as Opera, mozilla or firefox for the time being. For more information please read the BBC technical article here
13/12/2008 - According to this BBC Article, the US is moving to shut down the suppliers of so called "Scare-Ware" software. Scareware software is software that scans your pc for viruses, porn and more and always comes back with the kind of results that would scare anyone into buying their software to remedy the solution, at about $40 - $60 a pop. At the PC Centre Nantwich we were over-run with PC's during the summer that were infected with scareware, the most popular was Vundo virus (XP Anti-virus 2009).
If you have noticed software running that you havent installed then you could be infected by scareware or a virus.

11/8/2008 - We are receiving calls and PC's into the store regarding Windows Antivirus 2008 / 2009, these are viruses that are trying to obtain your credit card details. We have seen this infect numerous machines in the past week or so, we are not sure where people are getting infected from but its spreading.
You are warned that your machine contains spyware and illegal / adult material and that you need to pay to purchase the software to remove , please dont....
If your anti-virus does not detect it or cannot remove it please drop the PC into us here at the store in Nantwich and we will remove it.
We have seen machines infected that have fully up to date Anti-Virus including Norton, Mcafe, Steganos and AVG.
